Angola – July 2018 to present
In November 2017, PLV proposed to the Government of Malanje (a province of Angola) a project consisting of an ornithological expedition that would allow international experts to check the conditions in which the birds were found and evaluate the basic services needed to develop a tourist product. The joint work of the Government of Malanje and PLV was able to attract both private funds (BFA, SATEC) and institutional support (MinTur, Embassy of Spain, TPA, RNA, Pousada Calandula). After three weeks of expedition, an international conference was held on July 20, 2018 in which important Angolan authorities participated, including the Governor of Malanje, the Ministry of Tourism, the Minister of the Environment, and the Secretary of State for Agriculture for the Florestas, among others. The conference served to illuminate the potential of Angola as an ecotourism destination, and the challenges to surmount to realize this potential. An important media impact was also achieved.
Equatorial Guinea – 2019
In January 2019, PLV obtained the support of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Craft Promotion of Equatorial Guinea to carry out an expedition with international experts that toured Bioko Island and the mainland of the country during the month of February 2019, with objectives similar to the one held in Angola. After the expedition, PLV organized a conference with authorities from various ministries and the country's main media.
Cameroon – 2020
Plans are underway for an expedition in early 2021, and the launching of a avi-tourism project soon thereafter.
